COVID-19 Response

Our response to the COVID-19 Health Crisis

Montana Shakespeare in the Parks puts its audience and artists' health and safety above all else. At the same time, MSIP is actively working to continue creating content for its audiences during the COVID-19 health crisis.

Summer 2020 plans

With the health and safety of our audience and artists at the forefront of our thinking, We have made the difficult decision to postpone 2020's summer tour of Cymbeline and A Midsummer Night's Dream to the summer of 2021. Several contingency plans are being considered for alternate summer programming. Please see the press release below for more information.

MSIP LIVE - an online streaming series of archival plays has been scheduled through May 15. For a full schedule of events, visit the MSIP LIVE page.

Virtual Shakes

When the spring elementary outreach tour, Montana Shakes!, had to be cancelled on March 15, our staff and actors got together to imagine new ways to serve our student audiences at a safe distance.

And Virtual Shakes, the education arm of MSIP was created.

Because our actors are safely quarantined together, they were able to film their play Faithful Friends. The play is being distributed to schools across the region and nation.

They have also placed workshop material on the FlipGrid platform.

Through May 1, they are hosting live talk backs with students that were to have received the tour, but couldn't due to school closures.
