Gretchen Minton

Dramaturg/Adaptor, Henry IV Part I and The Merry Wives of Windsor

Gretchen Minton (Dramaturg/Adaptor-Henry IV) is a Professor in MSU’s English Department, where she teaches classes on Shakespeare, Renaissance literature, drama, the Bible, and other topics. She co-edited the Arden 3 edition of Shakespeare and Middleton’s Timon of Athens (2008), edited the text of Troilus and Cressida for the new Norton Complete Works of Shakespeare (2015), and The Revenger’s Tragedy for Arden Early Modern Drama (2018). She has been invited to speak to audiences and/or the performing artists at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Utah Shakespeare Festival, and the American Players Theatre. For the past ten years Gretchen has worked as the dramaturg for MSIP, and this year she has completed work on a book about Shakespeare in Montana, from the time of the mountain men up through the present.
