Open Positions at MSIP Summer 2018

Carpenter:  Montana Shakespeare in the Parks seeks an experienced and motivated carpenter for the summer season. Duties include the restoration and construction of their two summer stages. Qualified candidates will have at least 2 professional experience as a scenic carpenter, will be  able to read and interpret shop drawings, able to work independently and exhibit excellent time management skills. Dates are May 7th- June 23rd. Position is paid and housing is provided in private room/shared apartment on MSU’s campus. Scenic carpenter does not tour. Props Designer:
Montana Shakespeare in the Parks seeks an experienced Properties Designer for the summer season. Duties include the design and creation for all props and set dressing used in their productions of Othello and Love’s Labour’s Lost. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years professional experience as a properties designer, experience in carpentry, sewing, and other craft areas. Properties Designer will participate in design meetings bi-weekly beginning in February, dates in Bozeman are May 10th- June 23rd. Position is paid based on experience and housing is provided in Bozeman. Stage Manager:
Montana Shakespeare in the Parks seeks an experienced Stage Manager for the summer season. Duties include stage managing one of our summer productions, overseeing two production assistants, daily rehearsal calls, notes, and running the shows while they are at the MSU duck pond. The Stage Manager will not tour with the show but may be required to draft up paperwork to assist the actors with running their own show. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years professional experience, experience in repertory theatre is a plus. Dates are May 7th- June 23rd. Position is paid and housing is provided in private room/shared apartment on MSU’s campus. Sound Designer/Composer

Montana Shakespeare in the Parks seeks an experienced and motivated Sound Designer for our summer season. Duties include designing and/or composing an original score for productions of Othello and Love’s Labour’s Lost. Sound designer should be familiar with basic sound engineering and QLab. Sound Designer will help train an actor to set up, run and maintain sound while on tour. Qualified applicants will have at least 2 years professional experience in sound design and composition, a portfolio of examples to include and a degree in music or sound design is preferred.
