FAQ

  • Something to sit on—Blankets, chairs, toadstools – We've even seen folks bring spare tires to sit in! Note: We ask that tall chairs sit further back to ensure that everyone has a good view of the show!
  • A picnic—Snacks, drinks, a full six-course meal – Whatever strikes your fancy!
  • Sun protection—A sunhat, sunscreen, & sunglasses
  • A warm layer – This is summer in Montana, after all. Hot one minute, chilly the next!
  • Friends, family, neighbors, third cousins, kids, first dates, a stranger you see on your way to the show!

There are two audio accessibility options available for each of our performances:

  1. Personal FM receivers and headphones are available to borrow from the merchandise table.
  2. A FREE app may be downloaded so that you can listen to audio from the show on your own personal device. (Please remember to bring your own headphones!) Follow these instructions:
    1. Download the AudioFetch app on your personal device (both iOS & Android compatible)
    2. Connect your device to the WiFi network: Shakespeare! (no password required)
    3. Open the AudioFetch app to listen to the audio!

It really depends on the community, but often folks hang out and start picnicking long before the performance even begins! Seating is first-come, first-served. Be sure to allow ample time to find a parking spot if the show is in a busy area. And DO check if there is a pre-show performance – you won't want to miss that!

The shows are 2 hours long and there is no intermission!

No! Montana Shakespeare in the Parks has been free for our audiences for 52 years. The company does ask for donations at the conclusion of the performance—Any support is greatly appreciated and helps ensure the continuation of our programming for future audiences!

Our lovely actors set up and host a merchandise table prior to and after every MSIP performance. The merchandise table will close 10 minutes prior to the show beginning so the actors can get ready. The merch table will re-open at the conclusion of the performance! You will NOT be able to purchase merch during the performance.

The most up-to-date tour schedule can be found on our Events Page. The company may need to make last-minute changes to the performance time or location based on weather and other factors. Be sure to follow us on social media and check the specific event in our events calendar for the fastest updates to these changes!

Inviting local performers to represent the communities MSIP visits through their own art and culture is an important part of our mission. If you are interested in sharing your art through a pre-show in your community, contact MSIP Director of Community Engagement, Hannah Jacobsma at hannah.jacobsma@montana.edu
