Montana Shakes!

Faithful Friends

This spring, the MT Shakes! program is proud to present Faithful Friends, an original play written by Matt Foss that was set to tour in 2020. Due to Covid, the program quickly pivoted to offer one of the first virtual theatre programs of its kind. Students sent in home videos to be incorporated into the show, and robust educational resources were shared with teachers and students.

This year, the team of four returning actors and returning director, Matt Foss, remounts the show to bring it to students in person for the first time!

About MT Shakes!

Now in it's 17th season, the Montana Shakes! program features a 45-minute original, interactive play, a post-show talkback with the actors, followed by various theatrical workshops making for a fun-filled day of engagement for students K-6. This program meets many of Montana’s Common Core Standards in English Language Arts and Literacy.

MSIP only charges schools one-third of the actual cost of keeping the program on the road. The other 2/3 is supported through a combination of grants and individual donations. School administrations typically cover the program fee, but sometimes parent-teacher organizations or community groups help to pay for part or all of the program.
